The Boise State Martin Luther King Living Legacy Committee is proud to announce the official schedule of the MLK Day of Greatness and Idaho Human Rights Day Celebration for January 15, 2024! The beginning of the celebration in Idaho can be attributed to the MLK Living Legacy Committee’s founder, Eric Love who in January 1990 led the first celebration of then-called MLK Living Legacy Celebration. Former Idaho Governor Cecil Andrus signed compromise legislation on April 10, 1990, making Idaho the nation’s 47th state to honor slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. with an official state holiday.
