Lecture – Ice age humans in North America

October 9, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm MDT

USGS researchers Kathleen Spring and Jeff Pigati will present new evidence that humans populated North America as early as 23,000 years ago, 10,000 years earlier than commonly assumed. Their lecture on breakthrough research at White Sands National Park illustrates spectacular tracks of humans and associated mammoth, giant ground sloth, camel, and other now-extinct species.
