Boise Jazz Society and the Boise State Department of Music are pleased to welcome world-renowned saxophonist and jazz vocalist Camille Thurman to campus for a special guest lecture.
Thurman’s lecture is titled “Jazz and Pop Culture: An Interdisciplinary Look at the Influence of Jazz in American Culture.” It will discuss how the Jazz Age influenced fashion, film, photography, dance, language, art and other aspects of society and how these elements influenced music itself.
While primarily an educational event for students, members of the general public are invited to attend and observe.
Thurman is also performing with the Darrel Green Quartet on November 10th and 11th at The Riverside Hotel Sapphire Room as part of the Boise Jazz Society’s 2024-2025 Season.
