Join us at 10:30 AM in MEC 114 for a presentation from Robert H. Helton.
Rob Helton is a Boise-based representative of Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) National & Homeland Security Directorate focused on strategic planning as well as engagement with INL stakeholders in the Boise area, including Idaho state agencies with cybersecurity responsibilities. From 2015-2021, Mr. Helton was Deputy Director of INL’s Cybercore Integration Center and its predecessor program office, the Mission Support Center.
Rob Helton will present on Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and its national security work, with a particular emphasis on the Laboratory’s Cybercore Integration Center. INL, celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, is one of the Department of Energy’s 17 national laboratories spread across the U.S. INL has a long and storied history of R&D for our nation’s security, dating back to its use as a naval gunnery range during World War II to its current development of the Department of Defense’s “Pele” micro-reactor. Today, INL’s National & Homeland Security Directorate focuses on critical infrastructure security and resilience, wireless and spectrum security, developing solutions to protect America’s warfighters through materials research, methods for preventing the proliferation of nuclear and radiological material, and cybersecurity for industrial control systems. Finally, he will discuss ways in which BSU faculty and students can access INL resources and opportunities for collaboration.
