Come join Professor Craig Purdy and the Boise State Symphony Orchestra for this year’s Halloween ‘Spook-tacular’ Concert: “Brush Up Your Shakespeare!“ featuring music from composers inspired by the famous playwright William Shakespeare.
The program includes Edward German’s “Morris Dance” from Henry the VIII, William Walton’s “2 Pieces” from Henry V, Vaughan Williams’ “Sir John in Love: Fantasia on Greensleeves,” Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet Suite #2,” and Mendelssohn’s “Nocturne and Wedding March” from his Incidental Music to Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Boise State vocal faculty – Dr. Christina Mancheni, soprano, and Dr. Jeffrey Seppala, bass-baritone, will join the orchestra in singing arias from Bellini’s “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” and Verdi’s “Macbeth.”
In addition, the concert will be narrated by Theater Arts faculty member Professor Gordon Reinhart.
Admission is $10 before fees.
Boise State students, staff and faculty are entitled to one free ticket. These are available for pickup with school ID — in advance — directly from the Morrison Center Box Office.
