The ROSE Awards

Visit Boise, the tourism division of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, presents the ROSE Awards ceremony every year. The ceremony gives out a total of ten different awards. Nine awards are for individual categories, such as Attractions, Retail, Dining, and more. Additionally, one overall Spirit of Hospitality Award is awarded every year. Recipients of ROSE awards include members from local hotels, restaurants, retail shops, and any other venue tourists might interact with.

Roper’s “Behind the Scenes” nomination comes in recognition of her continued work with Boise State Esports through a variety of special events hosted at the Boise State Esports Arena. Some of these events include in-person tournaments/grand finals such as the CVAL/CLOL championships Boise State Esports hosted last year. Boise State Esports also holds various events that are open to the public, such as open gaming at Treefort. Additionally, Boise State Esports often partners with other organizations for many different charitable events. Boise State Esports is currently partnering with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to bring NFL player Scott Matlock’s visit to the Boise State Esports Arena for a game night with foster youth. Last year alone, the arena hosted 82 events with 3,500+ guests while collaborating with 5 colleges, 4 campus units, 22 community partners, 25 high schools, and 2 middle schools.

Roper’s Esports Work

Roper can often be found at all of these events managing staff, working with event partners on event logistics, and overall ensuring everyone who visits the arena has an amazing experience. She has also traveled with the program to various championships around the country, such as the recent Allied Esports PEC Championships in Las Vegas.

Roper earned her Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University. She then went on to earn a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management and a Masters in Public Administration from Boise State University. Since then, she has been a part of the College of Innovation and Design Dean’s Office since 2018.

Roper continues to work with Boise State Esports through the many special events hosted at the Boise State Esports Arena. The Boise State Esports arena is available to rent for a variety of special events. With gaming stations, team planning rooms, and a professional grade broadcast studio, the arena is ready for any special event one may wish to host.
