The entire Boise State Esports program was honored and given championship rings during halftime at a recent basketball game at Extra Mile Arena. Students and staff walked out onto the arena during halftime of the Boise State vs Nevada basketball game which took place January 29th. Boise State Esports received rings for their Mountain West Championship wins in Rocket League, Overwatch, and Valorant.

Nineteen varsity players, along with Boise State Esports staff, attended the event. University officials such as President Dr. Marlene Tromp and Director of Athletics Jeremiah Dickey were awarded championship rings as well for their support of the Boise State Esports program. Additionally, representatives from ICCU, one of Boise State Esports’ biggest partners, got rings as well.
Boise State Esports had an incredible 2024 in the Mountain West, winning the championship across many games. Of highlight were the Broncos fifth consecutive win in Rocket League and their championship win in College Football 25, which took place the same day as the Mountain West football championship, which the Broncos also won. Additionally, some players received recognition for certain individual achievements, such as the Rocket League team’s performance in the Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) tournament. Overall, the event was a great reward for the hard work varsity players put in the past year. The basketball game also ended on a positive note, with the Broncos beating the Wolf Pack 66-56.
