Boise State closed out April by finishing their spring NACE Overwatch season as second in the nation. The Broncos competed in the NACE Starleague Championships in Indianapolis, IN this last Saturday. Â Boise State faced off against Maryville University for the grand finals.
Boise State entered the spring NACE tournament as the defending national champions in Overwatch 2. The Broncos previously won the Fall 2022 NACE Starleague championships in Philadelphia, PA, sweeping UT Dallas 3-0 in the grand finals. This year, Boise State faced off against Maryville for the championship. The Broncos put up a valiant fight, but ultimately lost the best of five match 1-3. Still, by finishing as runner-up the Broncos still took home a hefty prize sum and finished the regular season with a 6-1 record.
Spring 2023 season isn’t finished for Boise State quite yet. The Broncos attend the CECC Nationals later this week in Arlington, TX. Boise State Esports previously hosted the CECC West Regionals, a qualifying event for nationals. The CECC Nationals have a $26,000 prize pool and is the Bronco’s last chance to end the academic year with a bang.
