The NACE Rocket League tournament this year has been full of surprises, but it should come as no surprise that Boise State University’s two Rocket League squads have gone above and beyond in this competition. This year BSU has battled both teams up into the top 16 of the tournament, putting both in a stellar spot to go to the final segment of the tournament in Atlanta Georgia.
The team of BSU esports veterans, Acepocket, Cosmobuster, and LCCorro secured their spot as the second seed in the tournament going into playoffs. While the new team, Oscat, TachyDoo, and Wayton, seeded ninth overall.
The veterans so far have an impressive eight wins and two losses, while the new roster has taken down seven teams, losing three series. But the BSU Esports program has impressively emphasized continuously that improvement is worth more than any tournament win. There is no better example of this than the two BSU Rocket League teams. Taking every win and loss along their ascension in the NACE tournament ranks with an attitude of teamwork.
Of course, neither of the two teams are done. The fire and passion for victory and teamplay will continue to drive these teams in the coming playoffs and maybe even into Atlanta Georgia.
