Are you interested in providing input on how a process for consent-based siting of critical infrastructure should be done? Would you like to learn what other community members think?
You are welcome to join a conversation about Consent-based Siting tied to siting critical infrastructure. Data/information that is collected may be used for the project research.
Those who join and complete the public conversation will be able to receive a $75 voucher. There are no anticipated risks. Approved registrants will receive an email confirmation.
Your participation is voluntary. To join us, register here. (By registering, you are providing your consent to be selected for the public conversation and to participate.) Attendees are free to withdraw at any time. If you withdraw before the completion of the public discussion, compensation may account for the portion of the discussion in which you were involved. You will be notified if you are one of the approved registrants.
Public Conversations
The Common Ground Consortium, led by Boise State University, is hosting public conversations to learn about people’s priorities for consent-based siting of critical infrastructure. Our aim is to inform the design of or improvements to public engagement processes, like those for energy/nuclear-related facilities, including temporary storage of nuclear waste (used nuclear fuel).
Funding, etc
This work is being funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and is done to provide recommendations to the U.S. Department of Energy on better practices in consent-based siting processes.
Summary insights from the public conversation will inform generalized findings/briefings and/or recommendations to the U.S. Department of Energy. We may also present briefings in public/technical forums and writing, such as peer-reviewed articles. No quotes or attributions would be made without permission. Individuals will also not be identified without permission. Our recommendations will not volunteer communities or locations for future siting.
