The Intensive English Program
The Intensive English Program (IEP) offers English language classes at 5 different levels. Students can take up to 20 hours a week of English reading, writing, and spoken communication.
Classes are small, and the team of outstanding instructors is highly qualified and experienced.
Some students can combine IEP classes with regular university classes.
TRIO Programs
The TRIO Rising Scholars Program offers tutoring, advising, career and major exploration to students that are first-generation, financially limited or have a documented disability. TRIO Rising Scholars are majoring in social sciences or arts and humanities.
TRIO STEM Scholars offers the same support, but for students majoring in the sciences, engineering or math.
TRIO ACES offers support for students with disabilities.
TRIO Veterans SSS offers support for U.S. military veterans.
TRIO Teacher Preparation offers support for students majoring in education.
Other Campus Resources
Student Equity focuses on education in the areas of development, issues of power and privilege, social justice and internalized oppression and promote an environment where people with different values and beliefs are treated with respect and dignity.
Gender Equity Center is a friendly, supportive environment for people of all gender identities to explore, celebrate, and educate the campus community about gender equity.
The Writing Center offers free peer consulting on any writing assignment, at any stage of the writing process, including understanding assignments, getting ideas, shaping and organizing your ideas, drafting, and revising.

The Dean of Students Office helps Boise State students thrive. Services include:
- Help understanding what academic integrity means
- Assistance if a student is in a mental health, medical, housing, or financial crisis
- A food pantry
- Notifications to instructors if a student needs to be absent for family or health emergencies
