ENGL 498 Senior Capstone in Literary Studies (FF)
Instructor: Professor Tom Hillard (see faculty profile)
Mode: In person
The Senior Capstone provides students an opportunity to refine, integrate, and apply skills built throughout their time as an undergrad English Literature major at Boise State. As a capstone course (and, as such, part of the University Finishing Foundations curriculum), it will also ask students to reflect on their past learning in order to prepare for the next steps in their academic and/or professional lives. Students will look at their education from a variety of perspectives and investigate the ways it has shaped and prepared them for the future. Specific course work will include: leading a class discussion on a literary text of your choosing; revising, developing, and polishing a previous literary analysis project into a publishable-quality form; and collaborating with classmates on a public-facing project that showcases your skills, abilities, and expertise as advanced, soon-to-graduate literary studies students.
