Lisa Beymer, clinical associate professor in early and special education, is a double faculty awardee this spring after receiving a Golden Apples Award from the Associated Students of Boise State University and a Mentor of the Year Award from the Office of Undergraduate Research.
The Golden Apples Awards is a yearly student-led effort to express appreciation for outstanding educators. Each year, faculty from each college are nominated by their students and selected based on how they exemplify Boise State’s seven shared values: Academic Excellence, Caring, Citizenship, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, and Trustworthiness. Beymer was also selected for the award in 2020.
The Mentor of the Year Award was given to six faculty across five academic colleges for the first time this year. Nominated by undergraduate students, faculty were selected by an award committee based on the contributions made to a student’s academic, professional and personal lives.
