Josh Engler, education specialist for TRIO Upward Bound at Boise State, was featured as part of the KTVB News Channel 7 Innovative Educator series.
Engler and 10 students from Caldwell High School traveled last summer to Universal Studios Hollywood to attend the Jurassic World Rule Your Future STEAM Symposium, which included a tour of Universal Studios, an interactive STEAM career fair and conference, as well as meeting with Jurassic World Dominion actors and creators. Students at the symposium each received a laptop computer and attended an early screening of the film.
TRIO Upward Bound prepares first-generation high school students for college through mentoring and academic support by educational specialists. The program is housed in the College of Education’s Center for Multicultural Educational Opportunities.
