Lisa Beymer has received a Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Golden Apples are awarded through the Associated Students of Boise State University (ASBSU).
Beymer is a clinical assistant professor in early and special education, Master In Teaching (MIT) program coordinator, Teacher Education Association student organization advisor, and Undergraduate Collaborative for Research in Equity and Access in TEachin project advisor.
“She expects not only equality, but more importantly equity and shows immense strength while doing so,” said a student about Beymer in the nomination letter. “She is fair not only with her students, but with the community as she continually advocates and fights for access for people with disabilities.”
For more than 30 years, ASBSU has presented Golden Apple Awards to honor faculty who have encouraged and instilled in them a passion for learning.
