Loren Bailly, third grade teacher at Taft Elementary and liaison-in-residence for Boise State Teacher Education, has some recommendations for parents teaching, working and learning at home with kids. Her experience as a teacher prompted her to create a daily schedule, which keeps everyone on task.

“A schedule makes a huge difference for us,” Bailly said. “Definitely a lot less arguing.”

In addition to creating a schedule and developing routines, Bailly recommends designating workspaces, even if it’s the corner of your kitchen table.
