Bevin Etheridge, a candidate in the Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program, defended her dissertation remotely from Belize on October 28, 2015. Her dissertation research focuses on the perspectives of early high school leavers on: their experiences of school, the purpose of high school, and reasons why they left school.
Etheridge was unable to make it back to the United States for the defense because her daughter currently attends school in Belize. Instead, her committee allowed her to defend remotely.
