Meet Regina Moro, an assistant professor in the Department of Counselor Education, and one of the newest faculty members in the College of Education.
What are your areas of teaching/interest/research?
My two main interest areas for scholarly inquiry relate to addictions counseling/interventions and counselor education and supervision. These areas are informed by my clinical work as an addictions counselor and through my own process of learning how to be a counselor. I hope to learn about best practices related to counselor education so we can continue to produce a strong workforce of multiculturally competent counselors.
What are some of your favorite things about Boise State?
Two things come to mind- the supportive community and the school spirit. I love going to the local grocery store and seeing almost everyone wearing Boise State t-shirts or buying one in the Bronco shop! I also love that the campus environment has a sense of community and support. I feel supported to grow in my own role as an educator and a scholar! There is a wealth of resources available for that growth.
When not working, where are you and what are you doing?
Since I am new to Boise and to Idaho, I have been exploring the local city and also the surrounding area. I love that I can hop on my bicycle and be any where in the city very easily. My partner and I, along with our dog, are usually out hiking on the weekends, finding some remote places and taking in the beauty of the area!
