New COED Faculty: Esther Enright

Esther Enright

Meet Esther Enright, an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Foundational Studies, and one of the newest faculty members in the College of Education.

What are your areas of teaching/interest/research?

Teacher education; Instructional core practices; Access, equity and excellence in STEM education for underserved communities; Building capacity to serve students with refugee status; Teaching across identity difference

What are some of your favorite things about Boise State?

My colleagues. They are the most thoughtful, supportive, and energized faculty and staff I could ask for and they are committed to improving not only access to but the experience of schooling for all students.

When not working, where are you and what are you doing?

I’m enjoying the fantastic outdoor culture of Boise. Everything from how nearly all the local coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants spill out onto patios and sidewalks to the hiking paths in the foothills. The music, art, and other cultural festivals are fun. The sunshine and incredible weather make all that accessible nearly year round.

Boise State and Boise (the city) are two wonderfully surprising places. I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to work, live and play here.
