TRIO – A National Program with a Local Reach
The federal Student Support Services (SSS) program is funded through a grant administered by the US Department of Education to increase Boise State University’s College of Education retention and graduation rates for its first-generation and/or limited income students. TRIO has a history dating back to 1964 and has served millions of students over the past half century. The Boise State TRIO Veterans Student Support Services Program (VSSS) is an institutional member of the Council for Opportunity in Education and the Northwest Association of Educational Opportunity Programs.
OUR GOAL
The goal of TRIO is to motivate and support students who are first-generation or low-income or have a disability to pursue and attain a college degree.
