Nicholas Mendez, a first-generation college student from Caldwell High School, is pursuing his dream of higher education with the support of the TRIO Upward Bound Program. TRIO, established in 1964, provides opportunities like college tours, a five-week summer program, and scholarship assistance to help low-income students achieve their goals. Inspired by a campus tour and a NASA internship, Mendez will attend Stanford University to study Earth and planetary science with a minor in International Relations. Grateful for his community’s support, he aspires to become an astronaut and contribute to space exploration. Congratulations Nicholas, we are proud of you!
