We rode the bus over to the College of Idaho on the morning of October 11th where we went on a quick tour of some of the campus buildings. It was a busy rush through to see everything and we split up in two groups. We attended an administration session where we learned about the college. The advisor did a presentation and talked about how to apply to the school, get admitted, and how to get to the dorms. The presenter told us about the difference between a private school and a public university. She gave us some valuable information about the college experience and what to expect.
We then went to Top Golf. We learned about the science involved in the sport of golf and how the ball flies in the air. We had fun learning how to swing a golf club and learning how to aim and hit the ball. Some students who were novices at golf struggled to hit the ball but sporadically got the ball off the tee. Students had lunch provided for them at Top Golf. Many of my Meridian students said it was their favorite event they’ve been to so far. We all really enjoyed the experience and being able to do it with other students from Nampa, Meridian and Rimrock schools. We then had to leave to get back to our respective schools on time.
