TRIO ETS students traveled to Seattle, WA on a one-day trip to visit the University of Washington. The trip began once the group arrived in Seattle & hopped on the light rail to head toward the UW campus. At the University of Washington, students were given a campus tour by the ETS program director, Petya Stoyanova Johnson. The 2-hour tour highlighted many of the student’s degree interests. A few of them are Biochemistry, Architecture, Marine Biology, and Virology. The group visited many department buildings, residential buildings, & an admin building. ETS students then hopped back on the light rail with chaperones after lunch to visit the Seattle Aquarium. A favorite cultural activity takeaway for many students was learning about & interacting with marine wildlife. Before taking the light rail back to the airport & flying back home, the group split up to visit the Seattle Great Wheel, Pike Place Market, and a few gift shops near the pier.
