Use the Advising Appointments link to schedule an appointment with your designated advisor. Indicate on your appointment request whether you would prefer to meet in person or via Zoom. Please make sure to include your name, student ID number, student email address, and what you would like to discuss at your appointment when prompted to do so. For Zoom appointments, you will receive a Zoom link invitation prior to your appointment’s start time.
Please come prepared with what questions you have and the purpose of your visit. If you need to bring any specific documents to address your questions or concerns, please make sure to have those with you at the time of your appointment.
If your appointment is via Zoom, be sure to update your Zoom app. The advisor will meet you in the virtual meeting room at the time of your appointment. If your appointment is in person, please come to the Education Building, Room 321, and wait in our lobby. Your advisor will come get you at the start of your appointment.
Your advisor will start by asking you a few questions about your particular situation, professional goals, and what we can help you with during your time with us. We will then do our best to answer all of your questions, provide you with checklists or resources as needed, and ensure that you feel prepared for the next steps in your educational journey before you leave us. Our appointments typically last up to 30 minutes, but an additional appointment can be requested if needed.
If more time is needed to answer any of your questions, we may follow up with you with more information. Please make sure to check your student email frequently to make sure you have the most up-to-date information from us. We recommend scheduling appointments with us at least once per semester to make sure you are staying on track!

All Boise State students are required to meet with an academic advisor during their first semester, prior to enrolling in second-semester classes. A Required Advising (RAD) hold is placed on to a student’s account to ensure this meeting occurs. RAD holds will not be lifted until this meeting has taken place and future enrollment will not be allowed without the hold being lifted. Be sure to schedule with one of our advisors promptly to ensure your registration process is not delayed. Visit the Advising Appointments link to see our advising team.
