Teacher Education Admission Process for Evaluators

This page is for evaluators involved in the Teacher Education Admissions process. 

Students in degree programs leading to Idaho teaching certification must apply for Admission to Teacher Education in order to enroll in certain upper-division courses. Applications are available online via Taskstream and submitted electronically for review by Teacher Education faculty and staff. See the Teacher Education Applications page for more information.

What is the purpose of the Teacher Education Application/Admission Process?

  • Vet applicants’ academic progress towards program requirements (GPA, coursework, exams)
  • Evaluate applicants’ professional educator dispositions
  • Identify applicant strengths and areas for growth
  • Evaluate applicants’ oral communication skills
  • Ensure consistent lines of evidence for candidate progress and performance longitudinally and across multiple programs
  • Position candidates as Professional Educators
  • Meet requirements of accrediting bodies

1. Taskstream Application

Reviewed by Teacher Education or IDoTeach staff

  • Application form
  • Surveys
  • Academic requirements (reviewed from transcript): GPA, required coursework
  • CIFS/ESP/LLC programs only: Core Academic Skills for Educators: Mathematics test

Reviewed and scored by Interview Team in Taskstream

  • Letter of application
  • Case Study (not required for IDoTeach)

2. Interview

Reviewed and scored by the Interview Team in Taskstream

Step 1: Application in Taskstream

If candidates meet the deadline for submitting their application AND meet (or could meet prior to entering Teacher Education) academic requirements (including coursework, GPA & Praxis as required in their program), they receive an invitation to interview.
