Department of Literacy, Language and Culture

The Literacy, Language, and Culture program offers courses that reflect research-aligned approaches to teaching literacy and language. Our courses prepare teacher candidates and educational professionals to work effectively with diverse student populations in K-12 classrooms. Teacher candidates learn to apply foundational knowledge based on literacy, linguistics and language acquisition research. Teacher candidates will also develop, implement, and manage data-informed instruction and assessment in culturally and linguistically responsive ways.
