Dr. Constance Wyzard Memorial Scholarship for Educational Technology
We are pleased to accept applications for Dr. Constance Wyzard Memorial Scholarship for Educational Technology. Dr. Connie Wyzard was a pioneer in technology integration and joined Boise State’s Department of Educational Technology soon after it was formed. She passed away on Dec. 7, 2012, following a long illness. Wyzard won national awards in 1996 for service to adjudicated youth with disabilities and for work in alternative school networking. In 2005, Boise State students recognized her for her inspirational and impactful teaching. She designed and managed the department’s only undergraduate course, which serves about 500 pre-service teachers every year. She also was a tireless researcher, writer, and conference presenter, and wanted little more in life or death than loving her children and helping students.
Application Requirements
- Recipients will have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5.
- Full-time student (minimum of 12 credits undergraduate or 9 credits graduate) OR Part-time (minimum of 6 credits undergrad and 5 credits graduate).
- Completed 18 or more credits in Boise State University’s Educational Technology program.
- Must be a practicing K-12 classroom teacher.
- An essay of no more than 500 words on the applicant’s classroom integration of technology.
Application Process
- Write a letter detailing your qualifications and interest in the scholarship. Also, discuss how you have integrated technology in your classroom to support student learning.
- Include your name, student ID number, email, and address
- By Feb 15th, complete the university scholarship application in academic works and specifically apply for the Dr. Contance Wyzard Memorial Scholarship.The award amount can vary from year to year. The award is applied toward next academic year’s tuition.
