Specialization in Early Childhood/Special Education

A specialization in early childhood intervention and/or special education provides students with knowledge and experience in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies to more effectively serve all students from birth through 12th grade, with special emphasis on supporting students with disabilities and their families.

In conjunction with a specialization in early and special education, doctoral students may elect to pursue one of the following Graduate Certificates: (a) Graduate Certificate in Habilitative Services and Supports, (b) Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Intervention Services and Supports, (c) Graduate Certificate in Special Education Services and Supports, (d) Graduate Certificate in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
