Welcome!
My primary research interests are in the field of geoscience education at the undergraduate and graduate levels including curriculum design and development to improve student learning and increase retention and graduation, and to promote career awareness and professional preparation. My research group explores themes of workforce development, including what types of skills and dispositions are sought after by employers and how these are fostered in university curricular and co-curricular frameworks.
I’ve enjoyed over a decade of collaboration with colleagues in the National Association of Geoscience Teachers, most recently as chair of the Professional Development Planning Committee, as a facilitator for the Traveling Workshops Program, and workshop leader at the Earth Educators Rendezvous annual meetings.
My collaborative work in the geoscience education community can be found on my Google Scholar profile, and at NAGT’s Teach the Earth portal.
I am actively recruiting graduate students who would like to develop M.S. thesis or Ph.D. dissertations in geoscience education research. Please contact me for more information!
