This 4 lesson wildfire education unit addresses fire history, fire behavior, the impact of climate change, post fire debris flows, and managed re-vegetation. This tested unit utilizes place-based instruction, tied to the local context of Idaho, and is geared toward the 4th grade level and standards, but is appropriate for any education level above that. The lessons are best taught sequentially, as they build off of one another. This may be completed as a portfolio project, with instructions to do so. All lessons include a short video to guide educators in teaching this unit.
