The University of Utah Seismograph Stations (UUSS) maintains and operates seismic networks in both Utah and in Yellowstone National Park. Using this data UUSS detects and locates seismic sources occurring in these regions. The talk will cover an overview of both tectonic and other source types detected and located by UUSS. Also, three specific studies will be highlighted that show: (1) evidence for low angle normal faulting in the transition between the Basin and Range and the Colorado Plateau; (2) a comparison of local ground motion measurements (PGA and PGV) to the NGA ground motion prediction equations; and (3) evidence of induced earthquakes from the 2013 Kennecott landslide.
