Congratulations to Dr. Matt Kohn and Dr. Jim Crowley for recent publications in two of the premier journals for scientific research. Dr. Kohn, professor in the Department of Geosciences, is published in the latest Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. He is sole author of a paper titled, “Carbon isotope compositions of terrestrial C3 plants as indicators of (paleo)ecology and (paleo)climate.” Read Dr. Kohn’s paper.
Dr. Crowley, an assistant research geochemist in the Isotope Geosciences Laboratory at Boise State, contributed to a paper published in the equally prestigious journal, Science, titled “Effects of Rapid Global Warming at the Paleocene-Eocene Boundary on Neotropical Vegetation.” He shares authorship of the Science publication with an international group of scientists led by Carlos Jaramillo at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
