Geophysics PhD student Jukes Liu, who won the 2021-2022 Boise State University Innovation in Technology Award for her MS thesis research. As part of her MS research, Jukes developed a novel automated pipeline to map changes in glacier length using optical satellite images. Her method will enable far more detailed maps of changes in glacier length than previously possible through manual mapping and will revolutionize analyses of glacier length change.
Jukes’ thesis will now be submitted as the Boise State University nominee to the Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) Innovation in Technology award competition. This is a huge accomplishment!
Congrats Jukes!
