Karen Viskupic was installed as president of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT) during the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Phoenix, AZ. NAGT’s mission is to support a diverse, inclusive, and thriving community of educators and education researchers to improve teaching and learning about the Earth. Karen has been part of the Executive Committee of NAGT for the past five years, serving first as a councilor-at-large from 2014-2017, and then as second vice president and vice president from 2017-2019. As part of her service to NAGT Karen has been co-chair of the Earth Educators’ Rendezvous in 2016 and 2017, serves as a workshop leader in the Traveling Workshops Program, and chaired the Professional Development Committee that oversees all professional development activities in the organization.
