N-S Face Soil Sites

In 2008, eight soil measurement stations were installed as part of a north vs. south facing hillslope soil network study at the DCEW. Each of the stations measure soil moisture, soil temperature, and/or snow depth. Stations can be accessed via the linked station list below. The station network was officially retired in 2018.  However, several of the stations (HN, HS, LS) continued to collect data post-2018.  Currently, only LS is active.

• High N-facing (HN): Data available thru 2018 and part 2019
• High S-facing (HS): Data available thru 2018, 2019, and part 2020
• Mid High N-facing (MHN): Data available part 2018
• Mid High S-facing (MHS): Data available part 2018
• Mid Low N-facing (MLN): Data available part 2018
• Mid Low S-facing (MLS): Data available part 2018
• Low N-facing (LN): Data available part 2017
• Low S-facing (LS): Data available to present
