We are excited to announce the NEW Drone certificates.
Drone Operations for Visualization, Research, and Resource Management is an interdisciplinary certificate program that trains participants to plan, lead, and implement projects using drone technology, or Unoccupied Aerial Systems (UAS). Upon completing the program, students will be licensed drone operators with the skills to enter the workforce as capable drone practitioners and researchers.
Students will be able to:
1) contextualize UAS technology in the various disciplines and industries within which it is applied;
2) describe, understand, and execute the primary components of the UAS-based workflow;
3) demonstrate capability to operate UAS and to complete fieldwork using knowledge of equipment planning and preparation, mission planning, piloting, geolocation, and safety and regulations;
4) understand concepts in UAS-based data management and data products and analysis;
5) understand both theory and practice in the student’s selected specialization, including imagery and visualization, GIS and spatial analysis, Structure-from-Motion (SfM), and/or research and management applications; and
6) plan and execute a UAS-based project from start to finish comprehensively and independently.
