Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I miss my deadline?
What happens if I do not complete this program by the deadline?
- If you choose not to complete the program by the deadline, a HOLD will be placed on your student account for future registration. The HOLD will remain in place until the course(s) are complete.
- A HOLD means you will not be able to add any classes until you complete the required courses.
I have completed the course(s) but still have a HOLD on my account? Who should I contact?
- To pass the course(s), you must achieve an 80% or higher on the final assessment.
- Email DOSeducation@boisestate.edu to verify you have completed your course(s). Please include your full name and Student ID # within your email.
- Your request will be reviewed for verification and your HOLD will be lifted upon completion.
I’m worried that I can’t register for classes. I completed my assigned course(s), but it says I have a survey to complete?
- As long as you complete your required coursework. The HOLD can be lifted which will allow you to register for classes. For further information, feel free to email DOSeducation@boisestate.edu.
- The follow-up survey is optional, but highly encouraged. As we use the feedback to improve our coursework.
Is this for me
What if I don’t feel the information within these course(s) is useful to me?
- We recognize that not all students on campus drink or engage in risky behavior. However, the course(s) also covers campus policies and resources from which all students can benefit, including by-stander intervention strategies students can use to assist friends who may be engaging in concerning behavior.
I completed a similar program at another school; do I still have to complete AlcoholEdu?
- While Boise State understands that transfer students may have completed similar programs at other universities, we have no way to verify this. Boise State also has its own policies and campus resources that all students should know. It’s for these reasons you’ll still need to complete the program.
