K-12 Opportunities

The GenCyber program provides summer cybersecurity camp experiences for students and teachers at the K-12 level. The goals of the program are to increase interest in cybersecurity careers and diversity in the cybersecurity workforce of the nation, help all students understand correct and safe on-line behavior and how they can be good digital citizens, and improve teaching methods for delivery of cybersecurity content in K-12 curricula.

Cyber Summer Camp

Age Groups: 7th – 12th Grade
Dates: July 18-22, 2022
Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Boise State University’s College of Engineering
Cost: $150 (Scholarships Available)

The Cyber Operations and Resilience Program or CORe for short is hosting the Cyber Summer Camp for junior high and high school students (7th-12th grade) to provide students with a hands-on experience to the world of information technology and cybersecurity. Students will learn the basics of information technology and security, as well as cybersecurity basics.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn what’s in a computer
  • Install an operating system
  • Build a network
  • Learn what a cyber blue team does
