BOISE, Idaho – Boise State’s Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity announced a new partnership with Hyprfire, a leading provider of next-generation network detection and response (NDR) solutions.
Hyprfire’s NDR solutions will be used within the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity’s Cyberdome program. The Cyberdome is a collaborative hub for competency-based development enabling Idaho students to gain hands-on work experience by providing cybersecurity services to rural Idaho school districts, counties and cities. By partnering with Hyprfire, Cyberdome will enhance its cybersecurity curriculum and offer students hands-on experience with state-of-the-art NDR technology, while also making Hyprfire’s solutions available to Cyberdome clients.
The Cyberdome will offer specialized training programs in Hyprfire’s next-generation network detection and response, leveraging Hyprfire’s industry-leading Managed NDR (MNDR) solution, Firebug. This program will empower students with the knowledge and practical experience needed to excel in this rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.
This partnership will provide an immediate pathway to commercial markets via the Cyberdome program, where the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity offers a Security Operations Centre (SOC), a trained and well-supervised SOC team, and next generation cyber solutions to a range Idaho school districts, counties, and cities.
“We are thrilled to partner with Boise State University in this endeavor,” said Hyprfire’s Managing Director, Tim Jones. “By combining our expertise in network detection and response with the Cyberdome’s industry focused training excellence and cyber-forward stance, we aim to cultivate a new generation of cybersecurity professionals who can effectively combat the ever-growing threat landscape. We applaud the Institute’s practical approach to offering next generation security solutions to US rural entities via the Cyberdome program.”
Hyprfire’s Managed NDR solution, Firebug, provides active and consistent threat-hunting capabilities, enabling an organization’s IT team to proactively detect and respond to potential security incidents. With Firebug, Cyberdome clients can gain internal visibility into their network, identifying and mitigating threats before they cause damage or loss. Managed NDR is an essential element within modern day cyber security solution stacks.
“Our partnership with Hyprfire aligns perfectly with our mission to provide our students with real-world cyber skills and the knowledge of how to protect our industry partners through Cyberdome,” said Ed Vasko, Director of the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity (CISSP). “By incorporating Hyprfire’s NDR solutions into our Cyberdome platform, we are ensuring that our students and clients are at the forefront of cybersecurity competency development.”
The Cyberdome students’ internships are provided by grants from the Idaho Global Entrepreneurship Mission’s Higher Education Research Council (IGEM-HERC) and Idaho’s Workforce Development Council. This initiative contributes to the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity recognition as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, as designated by the National Security Agency.
