Program Pathways

Students may choose from the following types of degree pathways with corresponding funding durations:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Eligible for up to 3 years of SFS funding.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus Master’s degree: Eligible for up to 3 years of SFS funding.
  • Master’s degree: Eligible for up to 2 years of SFS funding.
  • PhD degree: Eligible for up to 3 years of funding.

Recommendations:

  • We advise students pursue a pathway that includes an advanced degree (such as a Master’s or PhD). Having an advanced degree in Cybersecurity significantly enhances their chances of securing positions at government agencies, often with a higher initial salary.
  • We encourage students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree followed by a Master’s degree to consider an accelerated Master’s program. In such programs, students can take up to 9 credits (equivalent to 3 classes) of graduate courses during their final year of undergraduate studies. These credits count towards both their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, reducing the overall time required for completion by about 1 year. Eligible students should apply for the accelerated Master’s program during their Junior year.
