Your Boise State Syllabus
Creating your syllabus is an opportunity to frame the course and get students excited about the content; it also serves as a way to communicate important information about course policies and practices. As a result, it is important that you be intentional about the way the syllabus is constructed and what messages it sends.
Boise State does not have a university-wide policy governing what must be in our course syllabi. The CTL provides a syllabus guide and template as resources for faculty who are building a new syllabus, or looking to update their current one.
Download the template and review the syllabus guide for more information:

You can also check in with your department chair/program lead about any syllabus language specific to your program. If you are teaching a general education course you can reach out to University Foundations for sample syllabus language, and if you teach online, you can contact the eCampus Center for a sample syllabus for online courses.
