Flexible Teaching Resources

Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, faculty will need to be flexible with their teaching and ready to shift to hybrid/remote instruction when necessary. The following resources can assist you with transitioning between in-person and hybrid/remote teaching:

Teaching resources:

  • Resources for Flexible Teaching: A collection of ideas, including links to readings and resources used during the Flexible Teaching for Student Success Institutes in Summer 2020.
  • Strategies for Engaging Students in Online Classes: The eCampus Center Knowledge Base provides answers to a variety of questions related to teaching online, along with resources related to Flexible Teaching.
  • Supporting Students to Create Study Groups: With social distancing and less interaction before/after class, we can help students to connect with each other to continue learning outside of class.
  • Tips for Efficient Teaching: This set of resources, summarized from a National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity webinar, are designed to help faculty plan and execute teaching both effectively and efficiently.
  • Active Learning Across Modalities: This resource provides ideas for engaging students, regardless of teaching modality.  Generated in summer 2020 as part of the Flexible Teaching for Student Success Institutes, it includes ideas for synchronous and asynchronous teaching and learning environments.

If you would like a consultation regarding your teaching, please complete the CTL Consultation Request Form and an instructional designer from the CTL will reach out to you.
