Overview
Is there a course you’re teaching in Spring 2024 that you’ve previously taught but would like to rethink? Perhaps you’d like to create more authentic and transparent assignments? Or add more opportunities for students to engage with one another and with course content? Perhaps you’d like to approach the overall design more intentionally and ensure that your assignments align with your learning outcomes? If so, this faculty learning community will provide opportunities to explore these different aspects of the course design process while you make adjustments to your existing course.
Meetings will take place every other week for 1.5 hours, beginning in the week of September 18. In between these sessions, you will complete some asynchronous learning about course design topics, develop your own course materials, and engage in a peer feedback process with fellow participants on their course materials.
This faculty learning community will include the same information as our long-standing summer Course Design Institute, but is designed in a format that allows you more time to work through material at your own pace and more time to develop course materials while still maintaining the experience of working alongside colleagues and a CTL facilitator on your course design journey!
Participants who miss no more than 1 session and who submit the final deliverables will receive a stipend of $200. For more information, and to apply, please see the CD FLC application form; applications for this fall’s cohort are due September 9, 2023, at 9 AM.
