December 2024 Everyday Teaching Awardees 

The Center for Teaching and Learning is committed to celebrating and highlighting great teaching at Boise State. No matter how small or large a teaching gesture, project, or effort may be, they all make an impact on our learning community. Every month, we are recognizing “Everyday Teaching” in our monthly newsletter. Join us in congratulating Jason Blomquist (School of Nursing), and Danielle Swerin (Criminal Justice) who have been nominated for their everyday teaching.     Jason Blomquist “Professor Blomquist facilitates a quality improvement assignment within his Nursing Leadership course. The project requires student groups to collaborate and assess, intervene, and evaluate project improvements. This collaboration extends to mentoring and guidance form the Administrative Leadership Team of the School of Nursing. Students and leaders interact to increase the likelihood of successful change management.”

    Danielle Swerin “Danielle has served as a Lecturer in CJ for years. She currently teaches (a 4/4 load, plus summer classes) remotely. She is one of the most popular faculty in CJ. Students line-up for her classes. She is also closely involved in Dept. initiatives and activities, helps with student groups, etc.”
