Did you know that the CTL offers confidential, formative classroom observations? These observations can offer insights into classroom instruction that enable you to reflect on your current teaching strategies, and potentially adopt new ones. CTL observations are flexible and cater to your specific needs, whether you want to focus on a particular area (such as participation strategies or discussion prompts) or prefer a comprehensive observation covering all aspects of a course session. This flexibility empowers you to guide your professional development to suit your teaching goals.
What does a classroom observation look like? When you request an observation, a CTL consultant will reach out to you to learn about your instructional goals and needs, and schedule the class visit. During the observation, the CTL consultant will take notes highlighting strengths and offering constructive feedback based on your goals. Finally, you and the consultant will discuss your thoughts on the class session, as well as the consultant’s observations. All observations are confidential, not evaluative, and the details of the observation are only shared with you.
Interested in scheduling an observation? Simply fill out the CTL Consultation Request Form and a CTL staff member will be in touch right away.
