Sparkshops are coming back Spring 2023!
Sparkshops are 20 minute mobile workshops where the CTL comes to you. These mini-workshops are facilitated by a CTL staff member and are designed to be delivered in departments during faculty meetings or other teaching related gatherings.
Sparkshops are meant to spark faculty members’ interest in teaching and to catalyze departmental conversations around teaching and learning.
To request a Sparkshop for your department or teaching related gathering please complete the Sparkshop Request Form.
SparkShop Offerings
Each Sparkshop will provide:
- an introduction to a specific evidence-based instructional practice (EBIP) or other teaching technique
- potential reasons faculty might incorporate the technique in their course
- examples of how the technique can be implemented in the classroom
Sparkshops are a great way to get a brief introduction to various teaching strategies or topics important to faculty in your department and to stimulate discussions about teaching and learning among colleagues.
For faculty who were present during a Sparkshop, their participation will be added to the CTL event management system so it can be included in Faculty180.
