Research Development is committed to your research and creative activity success. We are available to meet with you to discuss your ideas, connect you with resources and potential collaborators across campus, and brainstorm/ideate with you to position your idea for funding. We can also facilitate group brainstorming sessions and develop affinity groups around a topic of interest.
- Consultations – Meet with a Research Development Strategist to talk through resources and tools to build out your ideas for a fundable project.
- Networking – We can help you think through an effective team to bring your idea to fruition and connect you with potential collaborators across campus and from the community. CRCA also hosts networking events, bringing scholars together from across disciplines to connect, learn from one another, and generate ideas.
- Brainstorming and Ideation – We can work with you on defining your project, developing compelling research questions, and conceptualizing your project. We do this through consultations and for larger groups, through guided exercises and meeting facilitation.
- Affinity Groups – For topics of broad interest across campus, we facilitate the development of affinity groups that meet regularly to discuss, brainstorm, develop ideas and strategize for funding projects.
- Program Officer Meetings/Visits – We arrange for program officers from a variety of funding agencies to visit campus, meet with faculty, and discuss potential project ideas. We also support faculty in meeting virtually with Program Officers to determine if their idea is a good fit for the targeted program. In preparation for these meetings, we review concept or white papers.
- Funding Trends and Government Relations – We track research and creative activity trends and legislative funding changes at the national, regional and local levels. We also work with a leading government relations firm in Washington, D.C. to learn about upcoming opportunities and plan accordingly.
