Video Transcript: Introducing School of Computing

[Dr. Marlene Tromp:] Boise State was again recognized as one of the most innovative public universities in the country. Our trailblazing work makes a real and immediate impact for our students and for industry. We broke down silos, facilitated partnerships that enable industry to provide input as we design our programming. Because we understand how important it is to create a pipeline for students for vital industries in our state, we’ve even developed programming that reaches down to K-12 students to help them imagine and begin to build their futures. Our College of Engineering has launched the Institute for Microelectronics Education and Research to foster interdisciplinary collaboration on microelectronics education. Together with state partners, we will create and provide robust curriculum and technology, engineering, business operations, supply chain, and more. We are also doing far-reaching work around computer science and cybersecurity, accelerating and synergizing some of those efforts in our new school of computing. Thank you for continually reshaping what it means to be a university that serves. I’m so proud of all you’ve done for Boise State and for Idaho. Your work makes a tremendous difference.
