High temperature solar receivers operate under extreme flux conditions that make material durability challenging and under non-uniform flux can cause problems during operation. Here, we are developing a novel type of receiver based on carbonized microvascular receivers. In collaboration with the University of Tulsa, we are developing novel modeling and optimization approaches for the microvascular structure in the receiver.
