Student Funding Support

The College of Engineering supports students in various ways beyond scholarships. Students can receive additional support for conferences, research, travel, or emergency and crisis situations (e.g., accident, illness, death of a family member).

Student success and experiential learning is crucial to the mission and value for the college and supporting our students is of the upmost importance of our faculty and staff. View some of the ways and different funding opportunities available to COEN students, clubs, and organizations.

Eligibility for Student Funding Support

  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits and attending the semester in which funds are being requested (must be attending summer classes to be considered for funds during the summer).
  • Must be a degree-seeking student in good academic standing with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or show evidence of recent satisfactory progress.
  • Must be experiencing an unexpected financial hardship resulting from an emergency or crisis situation.
  • You have exhausted all other possible financial resources before applying for student emergency funds, such as student loans, Medicaid, personal financial accounts, people that owe you money, and community resources. See additional resources below.
  • Must be able to provide sufficient documentation of financial need (e.g., billing statements, receipts, repair estimates).
  • Grant may be awarded ONCE during a student’s academic career
  • Grant does not have to be repaid

Next Steps

Completed requests are reviewed for approval and appropriate amount is determined by our COEN Student Affairs team. Criteria for approval and granted amounts will be basd on eligibility, documentation of need, and availability of funds. 

You will be notified of a decision with follow-up instructions.

We understand that students may experience unanticipated, temporary financial hardships resulting from emergency or crisis situations (e.g., accident, illness, death of a family member).

We never want these situations to prevent you from continuing class or graduating. That is why we provide ways to help you with your finances so you can stay in school.

Student Club & Organization Support

College of Engineering student clubs and organizations can receive financial support from the Dean’s Office for funding in competition, projects, materials, conferences, and more. If you are involved in a COEN student club or organization and in need of funding visit our application page to submit a request to our Student Affairs team.
